“This latest CD from Yarson delivers 13 compelling tracks all providing an interesting snapshot of an amazing artist with thought provoking lyrical wisdom and messages that are positive, passionate and extremely captivating.I like everything about Yarson. She’s truly an infectious artist that possesses a “Gold Standard” –look, sound, appeal, talent, vocal passion and presence. The pin drop moments are amazing, and her falsetto is to die for.Note for note, song for song, this cataloque is extremely likeable very much like the artist herself.”
"Yarson has the creativity and songwriting prowess to be extremely dangerous. There is also a unique quality to this catalogue that breaks the mold when compared to the mundane pop-rock that’s been filling the airwaves lately. What am I trying to say – well let m start by saying there is nothing fake and superficial about Kim Yarson. Not every square inch is filled with musical ambience delivered under duress – but musical space this allows the music to breathe on its own with passion that cannot be faked."
"If there was two words I would use to describe Kim Yarson it would be diversified and passion. This CD will simply make your day more entertaining, but there is an undeniable passion beneath all this. Yarson is a capable songwriter but it’s obvious to me her primary goal as an artist is to make the world better place one song at a time. If that’s sounds corny so be it because this CD spoke to me personally and inspired me on so many different levels. I believe it will do the same for other people, mainly females. In close “Thankful” by Kim Yarson deliver the goods – in so many different and amazing ways"
"Kim Yarson stands out from other Indie-Alt Artists in a good way within this very saturated singer/songwriter market. Her answer to mundane music is to deliver something unique with a breath of fresh air signature sound and a powerful message to call their own. The strong suit of Kim Yarson is her passion and her ability to write you a powerful piece of music via solid musicianship and thought provoking melody that speaks to the heart. One would be wise to keep a watchful eye on her over the years to come. At the end of the day Kim Yarson truly has something special to offer music a fans all over the world. Check out Kim Yarson via the below links – you’ll be “thankful” you did. She’s on fire!"
"Thankful” is her latest release and the result though far from a self-indulgent ego trip, rather a moving and elegiac artistic statement from start to finish. This is not your overly predictable Ramon Noodle Pop Rock female artist, no Yarson goes much deeper than that. In-fact Yarson could be classed as a 4 genera artist: Alternative Rock, Pop, Americana and even contemporary Country. Yarson has way too much precision and clarity to live in the shadows of overly-predictable Pop Rock. Indeed this is clearly evident in songs like “Without a Trace”, “Manhattan” and “The Falling” which methodically ups the ante to a very respectable level of catchy musical expression and craftsmanship that transcends typical pigeonholing. The music is also commercially viable with a fresh sound and an entertaining vibe that makes a real connection with the listener. All pieces within this album hold the attentions span of the listener perfectly. In a nutshell this is Sara Bareilles meets Alanis Morrisette. The 13 song line-up appeals to many differnt listeners and fans with a wide variety of musical styles."
"Her latest CD entitled Thankful was released in 2011 and I have to say I was extremely impressed with the opening 3 tracks “In This Moment”, “The falling” and “Without a Trace”. They made quite the impression and each one possessed my full unadulterated attention. To be honest: I expected cheesy Sing Songy Pop that was extremely predictable and shallow in nature – very compatible for a mass audience. Well shame on me! What I discovered was actually quite the opposite. The whole CD is wonderfully conservative yet full of what I would call positive energy with music that appeals to so many different senses on so many different levels. It reminds me of Natalie Imbriglia, Marisa Monte, Melanie C, and even Dido. I can also hear the slight Country, R&B influence in there as well. What I really like about Yarson is there is no attempt to deliver what I call over the top pop. Cheezy music with a pretty face via top flight sampling, cookie cutter songwriting via a mix that sounds more like a commercial than a piece of music. It will also appeal to both advanced and novice listeners alike. Whatever kind of listening level you’re on – some will identify with things while others will not. Like a three layered cake Yarson is one artist that has allot of depth and has so much to offer. Weather it’s musically, lyrically, inspirationally, emotionally, spiritually – if you feel like music is taking us in the wrong direction than rest assured Kim Yarson is taking us back in the right direction with Thankful."

"Yarson does things her own way as a singer-songwriter. Her music is rooted in folk storytelling but is refreshing in her way of making ordinary experiences seem poetic. Yarson pulls from her experience as a woman of many faces: wife, mother, friend, lover all woven into a seamless tapestry of lyrics which allow you to know her aspirations apart from her music style."
-Dr M of the New Music Eclectic Style-
"On her new CD 'Thankful,' Kim Yarson has put together a great collection that highlights her captivating vocals, with songs that are poetic, romantic and inspirational, with a touch of humor"

An enthusiastic audience enjoyed the Songwriters-in-the-Round concert on the patio Sunday at Middletown Library. The three talented singer/songwriters, Kim Yarson, Jo Wymer, and Norman Taylor are each fine musicians, and together they present a mix of style and sound that is a real treat. We will look forward to a return visit.
